In April 2025 we filled a convention center hall with hundreds of Asian American elders for one of our largest anti-scam seminars yet. An NYPD officer walked through the latest phone and mail scams, with interpreters making sure every person in the room could follow along. Everyone went home knowing what to hang up on.
Full story coming soonOur delegation visited the Police Benevolent Association to present the latest scholarship check for the children of officers hurt in the line of duty, continuing a partnership now more than twenty-five years deep.
As anti-Asian violence rose, we joined officers and neighbors in the street under one banner, Let's End Hate Crime Together, and helped victims connect with the precincts that could help.
Our board met with precinct leadership to keep the lines open between the NYPD and the Asian American communities of Queens, talking through concerns and what comes next.
Officers led honest sessions on drugs, bullying, and safety, the kind of conversation that builds trust early and helps a young person see the police as people they can turn to.
Our banner went up the avenue alongside the NYPD and community groups, a public reminder that the council is active, visible, and proud to stand with the city it serves.
